Integrated Crop Management

چکیده
The procedure required to move forward with regard to get-ting genetically improved cotton accepted and commerciallyavailable is discussed. Three steps generally need to be taken, namely getting biosafety guidelines or regulations in place, secondly testing the technology for efficacy and suitability, and then thirdly, moving forward with commercializationthereby making the technology available to cotton growers. This paper also looks at some of the benefits of Bt technologyunder small scale production, in order to encourage efforts toexpand the availability of these technologies in Africa. Theadoption of this technology amongst smallholder growers inSouth Africa has been characterized by a high rate of accep-tance, increased yield, reduced spraying and easier crop man-agement.

The study was conducted among the two farmer groups in Bhaktapur and Kavre districts of Nepal. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the differences in belief, attitude and practices felt by the farmers after participation in the IPM FFS. The study has been based on data collected through personal interview with the farmers, focus group discussion, personal observation in the farmers f...

Information on maximum grain yield and its attributes are limited for double-season rice crop grown under the subtropical environment. This study was conducted to examine key characteristics associated with high yielding double-season rice crop through a comparison between an integrated crop management (ICM) and farmers' practice (FP). Field experiments were conducted in the early and late seas...
متن کاملAn integrated soil-crop system model for water and nitrogen management in North China
An integrated model WHCNS (soil Water Heat Carbon Nitrogen Simulator) was developed to assess water and nitrogen (N) management in North China. It included five main modules: soil water, soil temperature, soil carbon (C), soil N, and crop growth. The model integrated some features of several widely used crop and soil models, and some modifications were made in order to apply the WHCNS model und...

This study used the C4.5 data mining algorithm to model farmers’ crop choice in two watersheds in Thailand. Previous attempts in the Integrated Water Resource Assessment and Management Project to model farmers’ crop choice produced large sets of decision rules. In order to produce simplified models of farmers’ crop choice, data mining operations were applied for each soil series in the study ar...
متن کاملSustainability and integrated weed management in Australian winter cropping systems: a bioeconomic analysis
Economic evaluations of the benefits of integrated weed management often only consider the benefits of management in the crop phase, and ignore the impact of rotational options. In particular, non-crop phases such as annual and perennial pasture phases can have a substantial impact upon weed population dynamics and economic returns. Moreover, extended perennial pasture phases are being promoted...
